Learning for Life

Atlanta Hub partnered with The LIFE School for a six month project that increases the visibility and provides awareness of educational options for families within metro Atlanta, raises money for a scholarship for one student to enroll, and provides mentorship for students of LIFE School to learn more about career options once they graduate. The LIFE School is a self directed, project based high school in Castleberry Hill Atlanta. There, learning is driven by students' interests and goals (e.g. learning a new language, building mobile apps, going to college). Teachers help students pursue their interests and discover new ones through real world projects, professional internships, and lots of field trips. Academic credit and leadership development are integrated into these experiences. By graduation, a student has, at a minimum, learned to code, interned with multiple organizations, and started a business. Students also graduate with a personal, informed definition of life success and a plan to achieve it.
