Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo are the two Central African states which have and will face the vote during the year 2023 to elect their leaders. Both countries are dominated by a young population to whom we attribute a certain essence in the political sphere, combined with an exponential exploitation of social networks and social media. Considering the direct and indirect effects of social networks on the population, information from the media must comply with journalistic standards, whether for traditional media or for social media.

Journalists, Web reporters, Influencers, Voters were the main targets of the awareness campaign.Fake News has become recurrent in Africa and was at the origin of the opening of electoral and post-electoral conflicts.

Use social networks as a means to disseminate good information and report the authors of fake news

The Libreville Hub called on media professionals and influencers to mobilize. The program began with a 2-day webinar series and Closing Day. The objectives were to work on conscious communication during the electoral period and participate in the smooth running of the presidential elections. In the long term, the wish was to establish professional ethics in the consciousness of media professionals. Also, one of the objectives was to raise awareness among 100 media professionals, web reporters and influencers.

91 people registered, 400 views on the 2-day webinar series, 30 people in person on the last day. +10,000 people reached by the awareness campaign on social media. Hub of Kinshasa and Goma were the main collaborators.
