A large number of micro entrepreneurs in Florianopolis (particularly black, single mothers as well as migrant micro-entrepreneurs) were not prepared to face the Covid-19 pandemic and found themselves in very challenging situations.

Target Group

Black, single mothers and migrant micro-entrepreneurs.

Proposed Solution

The Mandala Project was a support and mentoring program for black, solo mothers and migrant microentrepreneurs that was born in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, when the Hub identified a large number of micro entrepreneurs in need of information and preparation to deal with their economic and business situation.

Hub Activities:

The Mandala Project launched by the Florianopolis Hub consisted in a 5 weeks training program with online meetings that lasted 2 hour each. In the end of the project, the beneficiaries had 10 hours of online courses and 5 e-books with content and exercises to practice and find ways to boost their business in a pandemic crisis. Were covered topics such as: market planning, business management, finances and bureaucracy, sales and marketing, digital marketing and action plan for business growth.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results

The objective was to reach 10 beneficiaries in a first cycle. The project in the end reached 6 micro-entrepreneurs whole completed the full training. The NPS (net promoter score) of the project was 75.
