Problem Statement:

Students in smaller cities of India need access to good role models and career guidance in order to make well-informed decisions for their own career paths.

 

Target Group:

Students in Grades 8-10 who are at the cusp of making decisions on or between various career paths.

 

Proposed Solution:

In order to widen the perspective of students in the target group, leaders from various career domains are invited to interact with students and give them an inside view of their lives.

Nuclear scientists, MBAs, entrepreneurs, VCs and leaders from 12 other domains have been invited so far - hearing from and interacting with these leaders and domain experts first-hand enables the students to have access to not only strong role models but also to relevant career guidance.

 

Hub Activities:

• The hub has conducted 16 interactions with 20,000 students where 16 leaders from all over the world were invited


• The sessions included challenges where students had to learn a skill and perform a task


• The students were given awards and recognition by the speakers

 

Short & Long-Term Results:

Students got a glimpse inside various career options by interacting with leaders in those roles that allowed them to feel more prepared in their decision-making process. The participatory nature of activities ensured that students learned by doing.
