Michoacan Is Art

Project's problem statement

In the context of violence in Michoacán, this project aims to support youth through the development of musical artistic and psychological auxiliary skills.

Target group

Young primary, secondary and high school students, between 9 and 18 years old, in a situation of vulnerability to drug use, inhabitants of areas with high insecurity rates.

Project's proposed solution

This program will include artistic skill development workshops, with a special focus on music, and will offer professional psychological support services. The objective is to provide young people with tools that allow them to express themselves constructively, strengthen their resilience and foster an environment of peace and security. We hope that, through this intervention, participants will not only improve their emotional and social well-being, but also become agents of positive change in their communities.

  • Offer group and individual therapeutic sessions

  • Provide psychological care and channeling in especially vulnerable cases, with advice from state authorities.

Short and long-term goals

  • Establish a cooperation scheme between educational centers, public institutions and civil organizations through project activities.

  • Form a sustainable working group with trained professionals to apply the project throughout the city and integrate a Choir and a Chamber Orchestra.
