NextGen Pathfinders

Problem Statement: How might we equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the shifting job market landscape, fostering empowerment through interactive sessions and workshops that effectively address their concerns and strategically guide them through the unfolding future?


Target group: School Students, College Students and Teachers.


Proposed solution: The project underscores the diverse range of career options available, reassuring students that they can navigate the future job market with confidence. By providing valuable information and fostering a forward-thinking mindset, the hub aspires to equip the next generation with the tools they need to make informed career choices and thrive in future world.


Hub activities: Teaming up with MakeShift Organization as a community and knowledge partner, the hub is hosting seminars and sessions in schools, colleges, and educational institutions. Hub members are actively involved, overseeing the entire project implementation and working closely with participants.


Short-term goals:


  1. Successfully completing 20 sessions by May 2024.

  2. Equipping approx. 5000 participants with relevant valuable information and helping them identify their skills and abilities to take informed decisions.

  3. Promoting World Economics Forum’s initiative and Future of Job report.


Long-term goals:


  1. Develop a robust and sustainable network of industry professionals, mentors, and educational institutions to continuously provide updated insights and support for students exploring diverse career options.

  2. Advocate for the integration of future-focused career guidance programs into formal education systems.

  3. Enhance youth awareness by leveraging Global Shapers as ambassadors to advocate and disseminate the insights from the World Economic Forum’s Future of Job report.


Metrics:


  1. Number of students actively engaged in seminars, workshops, and sessions conducted as part of the project.

  2. Extent to which participants actively participate during the session.

  3. Range of career options explored by participants before and after the project to ensure exposure to a diverse set of possibilities.

  4. Participants' learnings and reflections from the session in making informed career choices by using surveys and interviews.

  5. Feedback from participants to gauge their satisfaction with the program and the perceived value of the information and tools provided.


Collaborator: MakeShift, an organization specializing in innovation education, serves as our community and knowledge partner in this project. They facilitate community access to maximize participant reach and assist in the development of tools for conducting sessions.
