Northeast Ohio Youth Climate Action Fund

Problem Statement: To fight climate change, young people must be empowered and excited to get involved.

Target Group: Youth between 15 - 21 years-old in Northeast Ohio and the planet / Northeast Ohio natural environment.

Proposed Solution: Cleveland Hub started this funding and support programme to empower youth to start and execute climate and environmental resiliency projects within Northeast Ohio. The fund calls for projects led by teams of 2-5 young people ages 15 - 21 that are expected to last 4 - 6 months. Selected teams will be awarded with up-front funding and connected to mentors and advisors In 2021, the call focused on projects related to circular systems.

Hub Activities: The fund team will manage the day to day operations including recruiting students teams and mentors, evaluating applications and progressing student projects.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results:

1. Fund 100% of the selected projects until completion

2. Empower at least 80% of the projects to continue beyond the scope of the program

3. Support at least 50% of the funded projects to become self-sustained initiatives

Available Metrics: The fund’s impact metrics will be tied directly to the impact of each completed project.
