OTA Tech Hub

The Ota Hub (the Hub) is a self-organized community of young people working to address the needs of the immediate communities around the Sango-Ota.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution disrupts the conventional approach to how people live, work and connect. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these disruptions, sending shocks across different sectors and creating new trends.

To address the problem of the digital skills gap in Ota, the GSC Ota Hub is building a network of digital hubs in secondary schools through the Digital Hub project. The project aims to prepare young people between the ages 9 and 17 for the changing world of work by equipping them with digital skills. Through the Digital Hub project, the GSC Ota Hub brings digital skills to the students in their schools, where they spend a significant part of their day.  Our volunteer instructors train the students in digital skills, including web development, HTML, Java, etc.

We are also addressing access to digital tools by revamping and equipping the school's digital labs. This enables the students to engage further and practice their learning skills.
