Partnerships in the Hague

NGOs often have limited resources. Therefore, the Hague Hub has decided to collaborate with NGOs in the Hague to catalyze their work and mobilize resources.

Goals of the partnerships;

(a) Fostering partnerships and building networks between different I/NGOs in the Hague to create space for dialogue, and opportunities for knowledge sharing, within the local NGO network in the Hague, with I/NGOs abroad and Global Shapers Hubs.

(b) Build new partnerships to create more awareness and enthusiasm for the global Shapers, the Hague Hub and the role of youth.

  • Expected outputs

Visibility and involvement of the Hague Hub within these I/NGO ecosystem in the Hague and surrounding regions, The Hague Hub can play the role of a knowledge broker, linking different organizations and building networks within I/NGOs locally in the Hague and globally, and support them to take more steps towards more sustainable change.

  • How will we do this?

The Hague Hub will use the networks of its members to convene and link different I/NGOs. Furthermore, it will use its newly found partnerships.

  • Our first collaboration

The partnership is with the Youth Peace Initiative (YPI). The organization is localized in the city of the Hague, and its members are under 28 years old, they are leaders on the topic of resilience. YPI empowers youth to be partners in peace and be recognized as such. YPI connects youth in conflict regions, engages youth in dialogue and capacity-building activities, and creates a platform to advance inclusive peace. In recent years, they have been able to organize many conferences, programs and events. YPI’s vision is a world where youth actively engage in peace and reconciliation processes, contributing to achieving and maintaining sustainable peace. Their mission is to facilitate dialogue, knowledge, and capacity-building initiatives that connect and empower youth to be positive change-makers who advance sustainable peace.

  • Activities

Inspirational lunch - Starting the visibility of the Hague Hub in the office of the most significant ecosystem of NGOs in the Hague: the Humanity Hub. This lunch will bring together several local NGOs while YPI and GS-the Hague illustrate their work and vision and how we can foster further collaboration.

(Youth) Conference at the end of 2023 -  A conference focusing on Sustaining Youth Empowerment will be held in October/November, centered around youth leaders and youth organizations across all sectors, including but not limited to private, NGO and start-ups. A central question will be “how do youth-led movements stay sustainable?”, as well as how the youth-led organizations will maintain their relevancy and work while still being youth-led. For this specific project, close cooperation with the Youth Leaders of the Municipality of the Hague will be sought.

  • Medium-term goal

Combining our skills to try and engage with local and international issues, such as the youth-led organizations in the NGO ecosystem and how they flourish. Furthermore, within the partnership with YPI, another project, in the long run, will focus on water scarcity and democracy in the Gaza region by enabling youth action and mobilizing other Shaper hubs in the region.

  • Long-term goal

The Hague Hub can support more I/NGOs in the Hague to take more steps towards more sustainable change (locally and globally).
