POR ELAS - Building a Future By and For Women

Today, Brazil faces poverty linked to the increase of families headed by women in communities. In research, it was recognized that gender is a factor that determines poverty and increases the vulnerability of women, as well as age, ethnicity, geographic location, among others. Furthermore, being a single mother, according to the authors, also intensifies vulnerability to poverty, as it potentially interrupts studies. In all cases, when women manage to overcome the barriers of the labor market, most women find only informal activities available with low remuneration. Themes such as: holistic health (physical, emotional and spiritual) and women's health are associated with this situation as well as financial management and a local culture and women's rights.

As a way of mitigating this problem, Curitiba Hub created a "project / program" with 6 main pillars of action: women's health, culture, financial management, self-knowledge, women's rights and income generation. Our goal is to develop a methodology to bring knowledge about these pillars to women in communities and help them lead a healthier, well-structured and independent life.
