Proyecto Puentes

Introduction:

The Hub aims to create a bridge between disadvantaged neighbourhoods by matching the needs of the current workforce with their skills and potential. The hub does this by organizing meetings and workshops with organizations and companies that are leaders in issues related to professional development, employability, education and technology and provide informal training to people from these marginalised communities.

Our main goal is to ignite curiosity, equip them with new skills, and motivate young people to work with our partner organizations. The optimist outcome is to achieve an employment rate of 20% over the total of participants.

Problem Statement:

We have seen that it exists a huge gap between the youth, especially, for those young people living in slums and the corporate and digital world. Moreover, this segment doesn´t usually have the social skills required to work in big companies.

Target Group:

We will be addressing boys and girls of 16 to 22 years old who live in slums of Buenos Aires.

Proposed Solution:

We provide a virtual environment so that 16 to 22 year-old- people living in slums of Gran Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires City can develop their social and digital skils. For this reason we will focus on: 1) Online and interactive meetings delivered by digital companies´ experts, 2) Mentoring and support from our ex participants and Global Shapers and 3) Community building.
