Risk It - غامر Addressing Entrepreneurship Education

According to the Moroccan High Commissioner for Planning, the Moroccan unemployment rate fell slightly between 2017 and 2018, from 10.2% to 9.8% at the national level. Yet, among young people aged 15 to 24, 24.1% are unemployed. Furthermore, as stated by the World Economic Forum, 47% of the jobs we know today will disappear with the 4th industrial revolution. It is therefore important that youngsters become autonomous and develop their skills in order to be able to adapt to the demands of the market. Moreover, nobody can deny the lack of entrepreneurial spirit in Moroccan culture and business schools are more and more shaping employees that have an entrepreneurial mindset. Consequently, we organized 2 focus groups in partnership with HEM business School. The findings were clear, the participants needed to know more about entrepreneurs who dare to run their own business in Morocco. This is how Risk it - غامر Program was born and is growing through a participatory approach. Its first step consisted of a conference in which 8 entrepreneurs shared their experiences and advice to more than 160 youngsters (20 to 30 years old). Snippets of the conference were shared on Instagram and Facebook. This program will be structured around 4 main phases, as follows:

  • Phase 1: Inspire and open horizons (Achieved, 25th May 2019)

  • Phase 2: Understand the Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem

  • Phase 3: Accompany action and the execution of the idea

  • Phase 4: Connect with the market.
