Run in the Dark

Run in the Dark is a global charity run founded by Mark Pollock aimed to raise funds to find a cure for paralysis in our lifetime. The organization has worked with scientists, technologists, investors and entrepreneurs to catalyse collaborations worth over €100 million. All donations and participant fees from Run in the Dark went to Collaborative Cures, their charity partner for achieving this mission. Many suffer from paralysis, but we hope participating in this movement can drive us with this immense gratitude that we have the mobility and stamina that we do today for others who may not be so lucky.

We were able to host the run at the facilities of Stiftung Pfennigparade, a foundation from Munich that provides schooling, residence, and job opportunities to people with disabilities. Their facilities are barrier-free and accessible for wheelchairs, and other mobility aids. Together our participants ran, walked, and rolled for those who dream to walk so that they may find strength to preserve to choose hope because then anything is possible. We have organized the run for two times in a row now in 2022 and in 2023 with the support of Stiftung Pfennigparade. In the second time, we were able to more than triple our participant numbers, gathering over 160 participants (people with and without disabilities) and raising over 6000 € in total from sponsors and participant fees.
