Impact

São Paulo 2030

Problem Statement

Young people are among the groups most impacted by global challenges - injustice, inequality, poverty and climate change - therefore they must be recognized as subjects of rights and, thus, lead the promotion of the UN 2030 Agenda.

Target Audience

The project's target audience is young people, between the ages of 15 and 30. We will be working with young people in high school, universities, early careers and work.

Proposed Solution

The solution we proposed within the São Paulo 2030 project was, through participation in high-profile events and also in holding our own events, to apply playful activities and games in relation to the 17 SDGs of the UN Agenda 2030, such as SDG memory games.

Created by us from the project team, in collaboration with the public of the events who are mostly part of the youth, the objective is to raise public awareness by engaging young people who are aware of and directly concerned by the 2030 Agenda, to start using this instrument to guide their projects and daily actions to transform the world.

Hub Activities

The central activities of the project are to carry out and participate as an executor of activities in in-person events and online events of great notoriety, such as participating in the 2022 FIIS International Festival of Social Innovation in the city of São Paulo, an international art and culture festival committed to the UN's sustainable development goals, with the participation of thousands of people in the festival, educational and recreational activities to raise awareness regarding the 17 SDGs.

Holding educational activities on the SDGs at the Future City Festival in January 2023, which took place at downtown São Paulo on the city's anniversary with support from the city hall and leaders of startups and companies in São Paulo. The Future City Festival is one of the main events in relation to innovation and building the future in the city, it had the participation of 10 thousand people and more than 250 simultaneous activities taking place at the festival.

An online event called Juventudes ODS (Youth SDGs) held by São Paulo 2030 in partnership with organizations such as Global Shapers hub São Paulo I, IYD Brasil (International Youth Day Brazil), United Way Brasil with the aim of carrying out dialogues between people to develop positive solutions for society and connect the 17 SDGs with people's lives. The event included the participation of 27 people, including founders and presidents of NGOs, researchers, project leaders, company managers , young people studying at universities and schools and public and political agents.

Short-term objectives

The project is focused on continuing to participate in events, generating dialogue and raising awareness in relation to the 17 SDGs of the UN Agenda 2030 and continuously distribute content communication for the digital audience.

Long-term objectives

We work together with the Government, the private sector and the civil society, so that in the long term we can contribute to the construction of public policies, starting at the municipal level and later expanding to the state, federal and international levels.
