Over time the popularity of local craftsmanship has decreased significantly and the younger generation know little of these working realities.

Leveraging on Italy’s enormous heritage, the Global Shapers Venice Hub project aims at boosting knowledge on Italian craftsmanship and re-discovering jobs where apprenticeships and dedicated education programs are not available. 

The project aims to create an opportunity to study the intangible heritage of the traditional craftsmanship of our area and its evolution through the exchange between middle and high school students and craftsmen as well as the analysis of how this type of occupation has evolved over time.

During the past year,  we were able to involve three craftsmen (two working in the textile industry and one goldsmith) with over 80 students from a local middle school.
