Schools of Equality

Schools of Equality is an initiative to prevent gender-based violence and other forms of identity-based discrimination, by shifting attitudes that perpetuate such discrimination, through activity-based programmes in schools. Our curriculum sensitizes children to inequalities entrenched in society through discussions, film screenings, and art and theatre-based activities. These activities are conducted once a week by a trained facilitator and encourage students to examine and shift their own biases, and foster empathy and mutual respect. The programme also helps students bring forward plans for change and strives to make them active leaders by equipping their skills to take any mode of action they choose to build communities of respect.

The initiative is no longer a hub project but has been incorporated as a social enterprise. The social enterprise now have worked with over 3000 students from private schools, low income aided schools, corporation schools and government schools.
