Executive Summary

The SHAPE-UP Mentoring project is a unique initiative designed to support and

guide young people into the career pathways of their choice, and to build

outstanding teenagers fully equipped to become tomorrow’s leaders, and

positively impact their generation and beyond. Participants benefit from a range

of fun and practical development activities and events geared towards exposing

them to a wealth of knowledge, experience, advice and instruction that will aid

them in their professional, personal and academic pursuits. We are carrying out a

character building education activity in this regard. This is a teaching and learning

method which fosters the development of ethical and responsible individuals by

enlightening them on the good values people should exhibit and implement daily.

 

Project Objectives:

1. Building outstanding teenagers and youth fully equipped to become tomorrow’s leaders.


2. Integrate character development as part of the educational experience at school.


3. Promote a value-driven generation in Nigeria.

 

Project Impact

Abuja Global Shapers engaged some students of Covenant Foundation School Gudu, Abuja in a character-building training session on RESPECT. The feedback received from the staff and students of the school was heartwarming.

• 6 teachers trained and engaged


• 36 students were trained and received a certificate. These students are now project ambassadors, passing on these values and teaching their friends and siblings.
