Inspired by a similar project by the Chandigarh Hub, Shape Vision seeks to ensure that poor vision is not a barrier to education for underprivileged youth. To date, Global Shapers of the Surat Hub reached over 2,500 students in 4 schools. The hub partnered with an ophthalmologist who did eye checkups of kids in underprivileged schools. Glasses were prescribed when needed and the hub distributed the glasses to students for free.
