Problem Statement

We want to break the gender stereotypes that still exist in the native communities of Mexico City, where often, by custom and custom, women are excluded from the process of inheriting land and practicing agriculture. This systematically leaves women with the sole responsibility for domestic and care work.

Target Group

Chinampa women in the native and agricultural communities south of Mexico City.

Proposed Solution and Hub Activities

To train Chinampa women in sustainable production, sales and entrepreneurship, so that they can take control of their lives and become leaders in their families and environmental stewards in their communities.

Are you ready to be part of a unique and sustainable experience in Xochimilco? Join our tours with a cause and support the Chinampa women (people rooted in the agricultural practice of the Chinampa, which was inherited from the Aztecs) in their struggle for a more just and sustainable future!

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results

The objective is to foster sustainable and responsible development in the region, while promoting gender equality and empowerment of Chinampa women in the native and agricultural communities south of Mexico City.
