Skill for the future

The rate of digital illiteracy among children in secondary schools in Warri is low as they lack access to gadgets and proper training to increase digital literacy. The project was designed to support students who are in their penultimate year in their various schools to prepare them for the future, by teaching them how to compose and send professional emails, practice safe searching, understanding search engines and cybersecurity.
We as a hub taught the students professional emailing, identification of phishing attacks and the understanding of search engines by providing laptops, projectors and power supply across the targeted schools in Warri.
At the end of the project, students were able to properly compose/send emails using several features in the Gmail space, they were able to identify phishing emails and links, manage their passwords and secure their accounts. With this, we were convinced that more students have become aware in the digital space. We taught a total of 92 students across 3 secondary schools in Warri.
