The Johannesburg Hub, in partnership with the U.S. Consulate, assisted SMMEs in accessing business development support. The Johannesburg Hub ran a campaign to recruit and filter SMMEs for the U.S. Consulate's SMME mentoring programme. 

The Consulate's SMME Mentorship Program was developed to promote and upscale SMMEs in Soweto and Johannesburg. The program sought to address access to knowledge, and training for local small businesses at no cost to them. 

The goal of the program aimed to equip young entrepreneurs with the right skills and tools needed to succeed, and to create access in funding and mentorship.
