Social Impact Consultancy Project

Problem Statement

In Jacksonville, small and medium sized enterprises providing impactful products and services endeavor to inform the community about the advantages of incorporating sustainable solutions in their lives. Additionally, according to a study by PWC, the number of youth ages 15-24 have grown 30% over the last 20 years but their participation in the labor force has decreased by approximately 12%. Of those that are employed, many are in the informal economy holding jobs that are commonly characterized by low pay, hazardous working conditions, and little job security.

Target Group

We are supporting small and medium sized enterprises operating in the impact areas of the world economic forum and promoting the sustainable development goals.

Proposed Solution

Our social impact consultancy project proposal will provide scaling opportunities for impactful small and medium sized enterprises to inform the community about their sustainable solutions. Through a series of events, we will convene young professionals and small businesses, providing more connection opportunities for youth and increased job opportunities resulting from those connections. Additionally, the project will take advantage of the abundance of talent possessed by the hub and apply it to an initiative that can positively impact the local economy and community. By creating a guiding framework for hubs around the world to leverage, we can expand the possibilities of the social impact consultancy project and engage enterprises to add value in ways that align with the Sustainable Development Goals. We will culminate the project with a framework that hubs around the globe can use to implement a social impact consultancy program, leveraging the skills of their shapers to augment the work of small and medium sized enterprises in their city.

Activities for the Project

Organize public watch parties, expert panels, and community social events around the following flagship dates and events:

  • Earth day: Apr 20, 2024

  • United Nations World Oceans Day: Jun 7, 2024

  • United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Action Zone: September 2024

  • United Nations Global Goals Week: September 2024

  • COP 29: November 2024

Publish social media content and informational materials on the details of the issues covered in the flagship events we will organize.

Convene experts, business leaders, and community members to discuss important issues surrounding these topics and advance the climate solution conversation in Jacksonville.

Goals

Our short term goal with this consultancy initiative is to increase the capacity of local small/medium sized enterprise(s) to positively shape the city’s future while providing a conduit for hub members to practically apply and develop their skills in a structured setting. For the long term, we want to extend our engagement to organize community events promoting larger climate focused flagship events. We will Create a framework that hubs around the globe can use to implement a social impact consultancy program.
