Belfast Global Shapers were proud to host the Northern Ireland regional heat of the Startup World Cup 2019 on Monday 26 March. This is the second year that the Startup World Cup was brought to Northern Ireland by the Belfast Hub. The Startup World Cup is a global pitching competition organised by Fenox VC. The competition sees startups pitching their business for a chance to win a $1,000,000 investment in the May grand final. The Northern Ireland heat winners were Belfast healthcare startup Axial 3D, one of 13 startups competing for funding from Ulster University to travel to San Francisco in May for the Startup World Cup Final.

The goal of the project was to support and showcase NI startups and get them noticed on a global platform.
