Stay Safe Bootcamp

Today's youth are extensively connected across various social media platforms, often consuming it without taking precautions to protect their sensitive data. They freely share live updates and personal information, unaware of the potential dangers. Many underestimate the impact of their digital footprint, falsely believing it won't affect their real lives. However, it's crucial to exercise caution, treating our online presence as we would our physical safety—avoiding sharing too much personal information and being vigilant, much like not opening the door to strangers or running red lights while driving.

Stay Safe bootcamp is a three-week virtual digital security program designed for young people aged 16 to 20, engaging a cohort of 40 participants in a rich blend of asynchronous and synchronous activities. The purpose of the program is to elevate participant awareness regarding the critical significance of digital security while simultaneously equipping them with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for protecting themselves online. By creating a gamified learning environment. Stay Safe strives to simplify and make digital security accessible for participants. This approach aims to foster the development of a proactive digital security mindset, ultimately empowering young people to make informed and cyber-cautious decisions while navigating the digital realm.

Our short-term goal is to impact 100 young people in the first cohort directly and indirectly, and the long-term goal is to deliver 4 cohorts enhancing our program curriculum for future cohorts by integrating topics related to cyberbullying awareness and the impact of social media on mental health.
