Supporting Students By Building Networks Of Alumni In Baden-Württemberg

The pilot initiative supports all students from all types of schools in Baden Württemberg by connecting them to Alumni from their schools with the aim of increasing educational equality in Baden-Württemberg.

School leaders and teachers at any school in Baden-Württemberg have the opportunity to join a pilot initiative by Global Shapers Stuttgart e. V., inHive, and the Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports of Baden-Wuerttemberg to build an alumni network at their school.  The participating schools will be supported by a local coordinator who will work with the school management and teachers and set up a voluntary committee that leads and organizes the alumni network. The coordinators will bring best practices, resources and advice on building a network of alumni based on inHive’s methodology and expertise.

Target

The pilot project will work with 20 schools to reach 25,000 students across Baden Württemberg over a period of two years.

Goals

To engage alumni as role models and sources of information for employment and the world of work.

To create a community of former students to be role models and sources of information for both professional and personal development.

To provide targeted learning opportunities and support for students to develop their careers through Alumni Network.

Impact

To ensure that each school can build an inclusive, transformative and self-sustaining network.

To reduce social inequalities by supporting students across Baden Württemberg, especially those who are usually unable to receive such support.

Participation in the project is free for the selected schools. The project is expected to start in September 2022.
