Having taken our first step to empower unemployed women that possess untapped potential in Ankara through enshrining their talent in making felt, historically deep rooted arts that sunk into oblivion, we gathered economically marginalized target group with mesmerizing hand-crafts in Ankara with our Abraaj grant winner project. Our ongoing project is an initial step that has broadly been successful to identify needs and necessities of economically disadvantaged groups, particularly women and mitigate their current obstacles to some extent. Nevertheless, in order to make the impact sustainable for women that will have benefited through our project, they will have to get supported to form a legal entity (i.e cooperation, cooperative). Establishment of a legal entity is also crucial for gaining tax advantages and avoiding tax restrictions. Since, those women will eventually exceed the sales limit and become taxpayers. Consequently, women that we have contacted are disposed to league together and form a legal entity. With the meritorious bolster of Coca-Cola we are aspiring to materialize this huge potential into a sustainable business model by providing women artists a-toolkit-for-business that includes legal counselling, accounting and financial assistance, a guideline and technical assistance for a sustainable e-commerce website.
