The Future of Work Workshop

Recognizing the dynamics in the skills needed for the Future of Work and the challenges faced with today's young people in the employable age in Africa which includes; limited demand for labour, lack of job relevant skills (inadequate educational preparation for the work place, lack of technical skills, computer literacy etc), start-up constraints (skills to run a business, access to funds etc) and social constraints (gender issues)... the Lagos Hub partnered with HP Nigeria to hold a Future of Work workshop to equip some members of the National Youth Service Corps and fresh graduates with the 21st century skills needed to be relevant in these days.

In attendance at the workshop were about 20 young graduates and the workshop included the following modules:
1. Big Data/Data analysis/IOT: how to get involved
2. Coordinating with others; thriving in a networked world
3. Creativity
4. Leveraging technology for career growth and opportunities (Hardware & Software)
5. E-learning as a tool for thriving in the Global economy
6. Mentorship as a vehicle for career growth

This is also in line with the Global Shapers Community goal of equipping 10,000 young people with 21st century skills to prepare them for the future of work.
