Impact

The Global Garden

Urban dwellers in Paris, Cali and other cities need to exchange know-how and raise greater awareness on how they manage their local environment sustainably so that they can mutually improve their urban agricultural, waste management, sustainable consumption, climate education and reforestation practices.

Target group : Citizens and Residents (Consumers, Producers, Social Entrepreneurs, Teachers, etc.)

Vulnerable Groups (Ethic Minorities, Less Educated, Low Income, Disabled, Sick, Young, Elderly etc.)

Proposed soution : Exchange of good practices on urban agriculture, waste management, sustainable consumption, climate education and reforestation between Paris and different cities starting with Cali, Colombia.

Our solution is to begin with seeding and scaling the exchange initiative with Paris that has started with Siloé, an educational programme in Cali that teaches vulnerable communities about urban agriculture and entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Global Shapers Cali Hub, Join a Town, DINOS Foundation and Rincon Verde. After establishing strong links and programmes for exchange in urban agriculture, the next milestones are to replicate the approach horizontally with other topics such as waste management, sustainable consumption, climate education and reforestation, and vertically in other cities in any part of the world. The ultimate goal is to create an online-to-offline platform that contains rich experiences and know-how for local cities all around the world on a huge range of sustainable urban management and development topics.
