The New Social Contract (NSC) is a project by the Global Shapers Community - Gaborone Hub born from a desire to address "observed" gaps within our Botswana society relating to a lack of awareness and understanding of the Botswana Constitution, its origin and functions. In the majority, Batswana have never read the Constitution document and are without an understanding of the significance of the document in the governance of their country.

The initiation of this project also follows the location of provisions within the Constitution which are unjust and therefore requiring thorough review and amendment. Further, in its current archaic state, the Constitution does not represent the dreams and aspirations of the Botswana youth whose future it is meant to architect. The Constitution therefore requires a thorough review and amendment to meet the dreams and aspirations of those whose future it seeks to architect and become a document of human and inclusive laws.
