Torino Leadership Forum

Torino Leadership Forum was organized by the City of Turin and the United Nation Campus in Torino in collaboration with the Global Shapers Turin Hub in order to award outstanding global leaders for their social impact, and facilitate their exchange with the people of Turin.

Shapers took care of publicity efforts, and contributed to the agenda with the “Meet the Leaders” event, targeting social entrepreneurs, students, academics, volunteers, journalists and the general public of Turin. The event connected global leaders to local participants in a small, intimate setting. Through the lens of the theme “Leaving no one behind”, the recipients of the TLF Award shared their experiences on topics such as social entrepreneurship, sustainability and local and global development.

The invited leaders were:

  • Kavita Parmar, Fashion Designer from India who created the “IOU Project”

  • Christen Brandt, founder of the NGO “She’s The First” from USA

  • Hajo van Beijma, Dutch inventor of the social enterprise “Text to Change”, YGL

  • Carlo Petrini, Italian writer and founder of SlowFood

The event saw the participation of Mayor of Turin Piero Fassino and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson.
