Problem Statement

Residents of Dhaka need to have continuous tree plantation and awareness campaigns in order to fight the rising negative effects of climate change and deforestation. Treelionaire, a cross-hub collaboration initiated and led by the Dhaka Hub, is a citizen-led tree-planting drive that has a plan to plant a trillion trees!

Short-term Goals/results

To date through the Treelionaire project, Dhaka Hub has worked with 8 schools and has planted from than 1,000 trees. The hub has also established some high-level partnerships. By increasing the number of trees in the city, the initiative has reduced carbon footprint and created awareness among school students regarding the importance of tree plantation.

Long-term Change

• The local population (especially the students) has been sensitized about the climate crisis, creating a sense of responsibility among the general public regarding environmental protection


• The initiative has worked as a model for other hubs, which helped them to replicate the project in their respective communities


• The ultimate goal is to plant a trillion trees
