Impact

Turin Carbon Cutters

Turin is the most polluted city in Italy according to Legambiente's "Mal'aria città 2021" report. The legal fine particulate matter limit was exceeded for 98 days, a truly remarkable figure considering that it should not exceed 35 days. The metropolitan area of Turin is in fact affected by heavy air pollution, and frequent air quality exceedances have measurable effects on human health.

How to be aware of the problem ?

1)Distribution of a 10-20 page booklet in some elementary schools in Turin and Province. The story tells about the problem of air pollution in Turin and then proposes good actions to decrease it in our daily lives.

2) A day of outreach and analysis of the problem and what we can do as citizens to reduce its impact.

In the morning there will be active workshops for children and adults, while in the afternoon there will be 5 panel discussions with representatives from companies, associations, and universities discussing 5 different topics related to air pollution.

The impact we want to have on our area through the Carbon Cutters project is first of all to raise awareness of the problem of air pollution from a scientific point of view, to make citizens, aged 0 to 99, aware of the impact their habits have on the air in their city. In addition to making aware, we want to create spin-offs of the project so that we can monitor the trends of the good actions of the citizens who participated in the event.
