Unbox Christmas Hamper gift drive

Apia Global Shapers and Brown Girl Woke ran a joint Christmas Gift Drive called Unbox-Christmas Hampers Gift Drive.

As a leader in the Samoan community, we recognize that the Unbox Projects aligns with our mission to help and empower local communities with the goods and services that improve livelihoods. With these synergies in our Christmas gift drive, we have been asking for support and donations of shoeboxes and small-medium cardboard boxes to help wrap our gifts and large packing boxes to transport them.

The target was to donate 600 Christmas care packages to children in hospitals, vulnerable families, and communities that have been most impacted by the socio-economic effects of COVID-19. This included gifts for essential workers, patients and families most affected by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Samoa. Care package included personal hand written notesweet gifts (lollies, candies & confectionary, etc.), fun gifts (fluffy toy, marbles & board/card games, etc.) and a practical gift (soap, toothpaste & coconut oil, etc.).
