First impressions may not be the lasting impressions but in the case of a job search, first impressions do play a crucial role. The first step towards creating that impression is a good resume. Resume shortlisting is often the first step in picking the potential candidates. A good resume is a testimony to commitment and interest in the job offered.
It is often noted that the failure to project skills on paper can cost opportunities. And given the current employment scenario, we cannot afford to lose opportunities. Surat Global Shapers in an attempt to help students in their job search have launched a project called UPSKILL.
A hands-on Resume Building activity was done where we provided them a sample template to be filled on the spot. The students were able to apply the Do’s and the Dont’s taught in the session. They found the session worthwhile especially so because it was conducted just before their Campus Placements season.
