Waves4Water

Did you know that in the world 3 out of 10 people do not have access to drinking water? Did you know that the lack of access to drinking water affects the normal growth of a person, and even in the 21st century is a cause of death? To have access to drinking water, which is one of the fundamental rights of the Dominican Republic under our Constitution, ensures the healthy development of a person, increases their self-esteem, reduces poverty, and helps communities to progress in a healthy way. That is why Global Shapers Santo Domingo, on July 28, 2018 trained and awarded to the community of Guanin, 100 buckets of water and 100 water filters designed by Waves For Water. The community was selected after an assessment of their needs and lack of access to drinking water. Looking for an immediate and feasible solution the Santo Domingo Hub provided WATER FILTERS intended to clean the dirty water and make it suitable for consumption.
