Youth Climate Action Project Fund

Problem Statement:

Limited resources are available for young adults interested in leading climate action initiatives.

Target Group:

Youth interested in climate activism. High school students are the primary target group, but the Climate Project Fund will also be accessible to younger students and early college students.

Proposed Solution:

The Hub will solicit contributions to in turn empower youth in Northeast Ohio financially to pursue various projects addressing climate change. Secondary benefits include project coaching and mentorship.

Hub Activities:

The primary activities for this project are grantseeking, mentorship, and project management. These activities relate to the initial building of the fund and then creating the advisory framework necessary to steward the funds and guide youth project teams through the process of pitching ideas, using the money, conducting regular reporting, and measuring the outcomes of the projects.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results:

We’re aiming to raise $10K+ to support six or more student teams’ impactful climate action projects selected across two application rounds.

Available Metrics:

The hub aims to fund six youth climate action teams. Each team will be required to provide key performance indicators (KPIs) for their project. These KPIs will be tracked over the course of the students’ projects, which may span several months or more.
