Project Overview:
Social enterprises are organizations that blend profit-making with a social or environmental mission, addressing critical societal challenges while generating sustainable revenue.
In China, the social enterprise ecosystem is at an early stage of development. While the country has seen remarkable economic growth, there is a growing recognition that addressing pressing social and environmental challenges requires innovative approaches. Although the public has realized the problem, the majority of the public are not aware of a better solution. Social enterprises have the potential to fill the gap, but their growth has been constrained by limited public awareness and support.
The "Decoding Social Enterprise(DSE)" project is a strategic initiative aimed at promoting and educating the public about the significance and impact of social enterprises in China. By raising public awareness about the concept of social enterprise, we aim to inspire individuals and organizations to engage in social enterprise, as well as advocate policy support for social enterprises.
