Emergency Medical Camp For Garbage Dump Disaster Victims

On 14 April 2017, a garbage dump in Sri Lanka, named "Meethotamulla garbage-dump" collapsed resulting in 32 deaths and severe harm to people and property. A medical camp was organized in May 2017 in partnership with Sri Lanka Red Cross for affected families. The goal of the project was to provide free, high-quality, accessible healthcare to affected persons. Hub Alumni Dr. Dineshani Hettiarachchi and other hub members actively contributed to finding medical supplies and coordinating the patients. Over 200 people received treatment at the camp.
