Impact

G.R.O.W (Growth, Resilience, Open-minded, Well-being)

According to research, we found that migrant children face higher risk of mental health problems. Therefore, we have decided to start with Shenzhen, a city with 70% of migrant workers, to help migrant children become more resilient, self-aware, and responsible for decision-making and relationship-building. We are building a product based on Wechat’s mini program to deliver the materials written by the United Nation on Social and Emotional Learning. In order to help children reap most benefit from the product, we will partner with schools, parents and other NGO’s to motivate the children and offer additional resources. Our goal is to enroll 30 students for our pilot program, collect feedback, and iterate to expand the impact to more places.

We wish G.R.O.W could help build Shenzhen migrant children’s mental health resilience by equipping them with core skills in self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, responsible decision-making, and relationship building. For the pilot program, we aim to enroll at least 30 students and guide their learning throughout the program. We will collect both qualitative and quantitative feedback during and after the program as inputs for the next iteration.
