Hamro Jatra

Hamro Jatra was the first initiative of its kind in Nepal aimed towards promoting healthy lifestyle in Kathmandu. It had three objectives - launch mass community engagement for health and fitness, create rejuvenated interest in active lifestyle, successfully bring positivity and energy in spite of the challenges of daily life in Kathmandu. With the active participation from more than 1000 citizens of Kathmandu Valley, it promoted community initiative, well being and happiness.

Children and adults were encouraged to bike, skate, run and walk; to partake in community leisure activities such as street games, street dancing; to learn yoga, aerobics and zumba (for which stages were setup at intervals along the route); and to come together as a community and celebrate life.

With the support of the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation and The CocaCola Company, Hamro Jatra were held in various historic squares, which are World Heritage Sites, in and around Kathmandu.
