Health Talks Diabetes 101

Diabetes has been known as a common chronic disease among women specifically in Sri Lanka. There is very little awareness and negligence about this serious health issue among the general population, which has lead to the diagnosis of diabetes not just for adults but also for children of a young age. To battle this issue, a health camp on diabetes was organized by the Colombo Hub in partnership with the Colombo Municipal Council to mark the International Women's Day of 2019.

The goals entailed raising awareness and giving expert advice on diabetes, its prevention and treatments to the participants. The hub further provided glycometers for free health check ups and distributed various informative leaflets. It was a walk-in-free event and the project impacted around 120 women.
