With the islandwide lockdown due to COVID-19, many people suffered economically and financially. Colombo Hub initiated 'Helping Hand' to provide ration packs for 42 underprivileged families in Talawekelle, Great Western Tea Estate. The goal of the project was to provide relief to marginalized and poverty-stricken community members in an emergency situation to avoid hunger and maintain well-being. The requirements for the packs were obtained by the officer of the village and flyers were posted on social media platforms to raise funds. Thereafter, such funds were transferred to the contact person in the area to purchase goods and distribute them. Receipts and proof of distribution were obtained.
