Impact

Kathmandu Education Team

Following the closure of schools due to the pandemic, the Education project was conceptualised to make students excited about returning back to school. Since then the initiative has evolved to engage with students to help them explore the variety of career options they might not be aware of. As such the Education Project works with public schools around Kathmandu Valley to guide, support and explore opportunities with students through a combination of exciting activities and hands-on sessions. The project has also initiated collaborations by engaging with the Mental Health and Green Shapers team to help them implement their curriculum in target schools.

Project impact:

Conducted a day-long session at a school in Kavre for students of class 6,7,8 and 9 to help them explore career opportunities and educate them about climate change (in collaboration with Green Shapers). The session was conducted as a pilot session and the team found that there was an overwhelming response from the students and an opportunity to further support/educate and create impact.

A second session was conducted on December 10th, 2021 at Shree Adinath School. The team worked with over 40 students of Grade 7 and 8 to speak to them about their career goals and aspirations. A follow-up session will be conducted to practically support the students in their identified area of interest through mentorship, learning sessions, workshops etc.
