Negosyo Starter Kit: Livelihood Training for the PWD Community

Problem Statement: The Persons with Disability (PWDs) community in Barangay 181, Pasay City needs to learn the components of project management so that they can run a sustainable and earning business that they enjoy.

Target Group: Persons with Disability (PWDs)

Proposed Solution: The hub proposes to come up with a training plan that is tailor-fit to the PWD community's entrepreneurial project, conduct in-person workshops with them and provide actionable tools for their learning application. The hub is going to start with crafting a marketing plan for the market testing stage.

Hub Activities:

  • Workshop 1: Identifying your business concept

  • Workshop 2: Validating your business idea or sample products to sell

  • Workshop 3: Assessing product validation exercise

  • Workshop 4: Creating user personas

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results:

Phase 1 (PWDs)

  • Provide the community with practical knowledge and tools on how to build a business for the community

  • Craft a business plan for the community’s agreed upon business.

  • Connected the community to a potential client for their denim upcycling project.

Phase 2 (Out of School or Unemployed Youth)

  • Upskill the youth through technology education.

  • Connect these upskilled youth to jobs that are fit to the skills acquired.

Impact:

The hub has launched its pilot program for the Association of Persons with Disability of Brgy. 181, Pasay City last Jan. 21, 2023 and has so far impacted 10 people from the PWD community.
