Waste Management through Community Interventions

Camrabhat is an area with approximately 300 low-income households that faces huge waste and hygiene issues. There is garbage strewn everywhere and open defaction is a common occurence as well. The objectives of this project is to engage young people and the community in a waste collection and upcycling initiative to help reduce the negative environmental impact of waste in their community.

The goals of the projects are to:

  • Raise awareness about the importance of waste management and segregation.

  • Introduce the community to hygienic health and sanitation practices.

  • Create a robust waste management solution designed to have long term and short term impact.
