We envision a more united city, with no systematic difference between a newcomer and a local at every level. Where we all have the same chance to thrive regardless of our background—because our stories make Montreal a beautiful multicultural successful metropole.

AMII partners with local organizations who act as facilitators for Newcomers, those who may be seeking refuge, asylum or are recently arrived migrants at different stages of their journey in Canada.

Our focus is to provide relationship building events and ongoing development of those relationships and bonds that help facilitate mutual integration of newcomers and established locals as well as to ease the transition for everyone into their new city.

We celebrate the widespread positive impact organizations across the city have had on the lives of Newcomers and their families in Montreal. We understand meanwhile that there is a gap in nature and strength of social networks between newcomers and established locals. Our efforts aim to diminish this gap.

We understand the power of a strong social network for everyone, and we want to create an opportunity for established locals and newcomers to create strong relationships.

We encourage associations and local actors to join forces and create lasting support, to provide answers to these community questions; strengthen their network, raise awareness and create long lasting impact for everyone.
