Impact

Decídete México Ensenada

Problem Statement

The political participation of young people in Mexico has always been a topic of local and national interest. Given that, according to INEGI data, their participation is limited to 17% of the total federal elections. Particularly, in the case of Ensenada, that figure is even lower, at 12%. Which makes it necessary to generate projects that raise awareness and encourage youth participation in the country's public life.

Target Group

Young people between 18 and 29 years old in Mexico

Proposed Solution

As part of this youth community, we have identified that the strategies they have tried to implement to solve this problem have not given the expected results, given that they tend to use strategies that are not interesting for the target audience. Our approach will be from a more striking. Where, among young people, we seek to create spaces where we can share experiences and how important it is to create a political culture. This through interactive dynamics, invitations to presentations, presentation of debates, among others.

Hub Activities

Develop two large political dissemination workshops for young people. In these spaces, experts in electoral and civic matters will be invited to give awareness-raising conferences that encourage the political participation of young people. As well as seeking to hold a debate for the mayor of Ensenada for the month of May.

Short and Long-term Result/Goals

Short-term goals are to be able to have an impact on 50 young people in the first awareness workshop.

Among the long-term ones, it was to raise awareness among 150 young people about political-electoral matters.

Available Metrics

Have 50 young people participate in the first workshop. Have a cumulative participation of more than 120 young people for the second and last workshop.
