Problem Statement

The low political participation of young people between 18 and 29 years old in elections hinders the construction of a solid and fair democracy in the country, only 17% of young people in this age range participated in the 2018 presidential elections.


Target Group

Young people between 18 and 29 years old in Tijuana, Mexico.


Proposed Solution

Our objective is to encourage the youth of the State to participate in democratic processes, promoting participation in political life with the implementation of awareness campaigns through social networks, forums on democratic participation. Through strategic alliances with electoral authorities, universities and youth associations from different sectors.


Hub Activities

Through an event scheduled between March, April and June, conferences will be held with the objective of providing young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to exercise their vote effectively, equipping them with essential information to make informed decisions in the 2024 elections.


Short and Long-term Goals/Results

● Awareness of the impact of youth participation in electoral processes.

● Increased youth participation in the 2024 electoral process

● Proposals and recommendations for public policies with positions of Tijuana youth.


Available Metrics

Our goal is to have 150 participants from three different universities. We anticipate that of those 150 participants, at least 60% will actively vote.


Collaborators

Electoral authorities, Universidad Xochicalco, youth associations from different sectors and private sector companies.
