Impact

Desafiar

Problem Statement:

There is a lack of understanding about the financial world and how to make an impact on personal and professional life. To gain experience in discussing groups with people you don't know and settle agreements.

Target Group

Small entrepreneurs in Rosario

Proposed Solution

Desafiar was born as a simulation game to get people, small entrepreneurs and the finance world together. Desafiar UCA is a business simulation game developed by a former Global Shaper. The slogan is to manage your company by making decisions related to the fields of production, trade, finance, marketing, corporate social responsibility and caring for the environment. The winners will be those who achieve the best performance for their company, according to the business management criteria and the values promoted in the game. No previous knowledge is required to play as the simulator performs all the calculations, testing the directive skills of the participants.

The objectives of the project "Desafiar" were:

  • To use this game simulator “Desafiar”, starting with a 30 person group of entrepreneurs from “CILSA” - CILSA’s mission is to promote the full inclusion of people from marginalized sectors of society such as boys, girls and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability.

  • To use the simulation platform, with a gamification concept to support understanding of how different variables interact with each other, managing different businesses, such as ice-cream companies.

  • Participants were divided into groups of 5, each group mentored by the Rosario's Hub team to see how the groups interact and build collective solutions as teams

Hub Activities:

We divided the project into 5 weekly meetings in which we shared results, and discuss them based on theoretical concepts.

  • First week: group forming and explanation of the game.

  • Second week: first round opening.

  • Third week: conclusion of first round and opening round two.

  • Fourth week: conclusion of round two and three and kick off of the final round.

  • Fifth week: announce winners of the competition, and hand in prizes.

Short & Long-Term Goals/Results:

  • Develop skills related to financial literacy and contribute to business management as a whole.

  • Support small entrepreneurs and understanding management as a systemic topic and how to professionalize their businesses.
