Dignificando Espacios

Problem Statement

Public spaces have become areas where vandalism prevails, and many of them are strategic points for organized crime. Most of these spaces lack maintenance, are contaminated, dirty, or pose a danger. This leads to these spaces being abandoned by the communities in which they are located. Dignifying Spaces aims to bring life back to these areas hand in hand with their residents and our collaborators.

Target Group

The target group for this project would be communities in poverty where public spaces are used for negative activities instead of being a peaceful space that unites the community.

Proposed Solution

The solution we propose, beyond creating artistic interventions, is to unite the community and work together for a space that belongs to them, which can become a significant point focused on family interaction and physical activation.

Hub Activities

Our hub's actions range from analyzing and selecting communities and spaces to be rehabilitated, engaging with the community to choose the design, executing the intervention, and creating follow-up activities in the space. By 2024, we have a complete schedule, with one intervention every three months, and the idea is to continue growing with more allies and volunteers to intervene not only in our city but throughout our state (Guanajuato).

Available Metrics

Metrics will be based on impacted communities (number of spaces, number of people who participated and benefited, number of programs developed in the space).

Collaborators

We collaborate directly with the Comuntia Foundation, which helped us secure sponsorship for paints, brushes, and buckets, in addition to various urban artists from the city.
